I first became aware of Rudhyar in 1980 through his philosophical work The Planetarization of Consciousness. A mind-opener for a young fellow if there ever was one.

Soon after, books like Michael Meyer's, A Handbook for the Humanistic Astrologer stimulated a lasting interest in astrology and particularly in the work of Dane Rudhyar who had written the preface for that book.

Rudhyar of course, wrote many books and articles on astrology, music, esthetics and philosophy. One cannot recommend too highly all of his work...

In spring 1991 I spent some months in London, doing studies at Liz Greene's (and Howard Sasporta's at that time) Centre for Psychological Astrology. While in London I took in a meeting of the Astrological Association of Great Britain. As well, an event at Charles Harvey's Urania Trust, where I had the opportunity to meet Alexander Ruperti who was giving an informal workshop. There was also the pleasure of meeting Erin Sullivan, who presented a seminar on the Lunation Cycle at the CPA.

In the early 2000's I had the privilege of preparing some of Rudhyar's books for Michael R. Meyer of Cyberworld Khaldea, where they are available online with many others at the Rudhyar Archival Project.

It was also at this time that I began to develop the Mindfire website. Originally, the intention was to provide primarily astrological content for people that I was beginning to work with and for whomever else might be interested in digging more deeply into the subject. Eventually, it seemed appropriate to add the other material and links that are found there.

For some years now I have had the intention of offering my services in a counseling capacity. The idea being to "coach" interested individuals in some of Rudhyar's key concepts involved in The Philosophy of Operative Wholeness which he first introduced in a series of articles for the magazine Glass Hive, begining in November 1930.

Rudhyar wrote 3 books particularly, where he goes as far as possible in defining a structural knowledge that provides a new frame of reference allowing us to understand existence (and "in-istence") in terms of "The Movement of Wholeness as the All-Inclusive Cycle of Being." A way that allows for "A Total Affirmation of Being" the subtitle of what is known as Rudhyar's philosophical magnum opus Rhythm of Wholeness.

The other 2 books being the already mentioned The Planetarization of Consciousness, (1970) and The Fullness of Human Experience, which he approved for publication just before he passed in 1985.

If you think you might be an "interested individual" please feel free to email me and we can make an arrangement to use Skype or perhaps Google+ and see where things go from there.
